good dream - story by pratanu banerjee - letter based story


John Thompson works at an IT company. He loves to play keyboard, harmonica, flute, guitar etc. He also loves travelling. He wrote a letter to Jack sharing an unforgettable dream.


Dear Jack,
Yesterday I saw  a dream at night. I was walking along a narrow path of a forest. A huge demon with horns appeared. It started screaming loudly.  It came towards me and bit me at the head. I became unconscious.
By the way, how is your life going on? Did you complete the course of anthropology in the university? What is your future plan?

His friend, Jack Donaldson lives in Washington, USA. He is a website designer in a Washington based company named Aesthetic Designs.  In one particular morning, before going to morning walk, he checked his letter box. He found the letter from John.  He opened the letter and gave a reply.
Dear John,
I hope you are alright now. I came to know about the horrible dream. Last night I had a beautiful dream. I was walking across a garden. A fairy appeared in my dream. It had halo over the head.  The fairy wore a bright yellow dress.  It asked me three wishes.   The angel said, “ Hi John! How are you? My name is Gabriel !  You have worked so hard throughout your life! I request you to ask three wishes.” I replied, “My first wish is that I want to get a job with a better salary and perquisites. I also want a beautiful house. My present house is a rented one and there are often disputes with the landlord.” Gabriel replied with a smile, “All the wishes will be fulfilled.”
